2014 – Lilly Fisher

unnamed

Lilly was diagnosed with Clear Cell Sarcoma of the Kidney on January 22, 2014 when she was only 18 months old.    Lilly Fisher was the first family that the Growler Family adopted in 2014 and her family has been involved with the Growler since.     Lilly is in remission and starts kindergarten this fall!!

This is the latest post from her mom

“Hi everyone! The past 6 months have flown by! Lilly has graduated from preschool, taken swim lessons, performed in 2 dance recitals, taken many dance classes, celebrated her birthday, and so many other things. It’s been busy, but wonderful. I am thankful for every moment, every “first” she gets to experience. I also feel guilty because not everyone gets to experience these things. The world lost another amazing person too soon, Tony Cj Colton. PTSD kicks in big time when I hear about another child winning the fight by gaining his/her wings. One of Lilly’s favorite phrases lately is “it’s not fair!” This is one situation where that phrase is appropriate. It isn’t fair. When your child gets cancer your world shrinks and expands. All you can think about is cancer, but you “meet” other parents and children and form new bonds. Although I’ve never met them, the deaths of Tony Colton and Parker  have hit me hard. It doesn’t help that scans are this month. It reminds you that life is short. You can’t take anything for granted. You have to live each day to the fullest. Don’t go to sleep angry. Tell your loved ones how much you love them every day. Don’t let your anger get the best of you. Be happy.”
