The Annual Growler Volleyball Tournament is a 100% volunteer-driven event that raises money for childhood cancer research. All monies raised are donated to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Over 220 volunteers from swim clubs in the North Raleigh area donate their time, money, and resources to put on the seven different Growler Volleyball Tournament events over a four-week period.

In 2023, we raised over $207,000 which helped us surpass $1,000,000 total raised since the Growler’s inception. In 2024 and 2025, another $215,000 AND $221,000 were raised for the cause. This fun community event had its humble origins when members from four local swim clubs — Crabtree, Springdale, Lake Park and Greystone — came together to play volleyball against each other. In 18 years, it has grown into a major fundraising event in Raleigh, North Carolina and one of St. Baldrick’s largest fundraisers on the east coast.
