2013 was another successful year  28 Teams  – Over $20,000 raised for St. Baldrick’s
Congratulations to the 2013 Growler Champions, North Raleigh Six Pack Attack

The Growler is into North Raleigh’s Largest Sporting Social Event of the summer. Four summer nights of great volleyball action, neighborhood camaraderie, food and drink with more than 270 players from six different North Raleigh Swim Clubs. Most nights boasted more than 600 in attendance. Each night food was provided by our gracious restaurant sponsors including PF Chang’s, Lynnwood Grill, Carolina Ale House, Casa Carbone, Gonza Tacos y Tequila, Leesville Tap Room, and Moe’s Southwest Grill. RA Jeffreys Distributing (Bud, Kona, and Red Hook) and Malibu Rum were sponsors along with over 20 other local businesses. This is a huge community networking event, but most importantly, it gives back to a tremendous cause for children’s cancer research. Over $20,000 was contributed to St. Baldrick’s Foundation through sponsorships, registrations, food sales and individual fund-raising campaigns. The event ran on four consecutive Tuesday nights, with teams competing in a round-robin format the first three nights. The first night, all teams play at Springdale on three sand courts and two additional grass courts. Weeks two and three, teams play at one of four different host club locations (Springdale, Lake Park, Crabtree and Greystone). The fourth week is the Grand Finale Championship back at Springdale where teams play a seeded single elimination tournament. Championship festivities include our St. Baldrick’s shaving, a raffle, fireworks, and the Championship Game for the coveted Growler Cup.
